About Us

At The Art of Monday Morning, we believe transformation doesn't happen through perfection—it happens through presence. Founded on the principles of accessible, real-world mindfulness, we help individuals and organizations face life’s messiness with compassion, clarity, and humor.

“May I be helpful, kind, patient, and cool-headed. May I recognize harmful actions as a symptom of suffering. May I notice the beauty that’s always right in front of me. May I not take the wonder of this life for granted.”

We're in this with you. We’ve been there.

Whether you’re navigating burnout, grief, or the overwhelming pace of modern life, we’re here to help you find freedom—not just relief. Our work invites you to move through stress, anxiety, and disconnection with the tools of mindfulness, modern Buddhism, and a little bit of real talk.

The Rev. Mike Travisano, Oshō

Founder & Teacher

Mike Travisano brings more than 35 years of mindfulness practice and teaching into his work with clients, teams, and organizations. An ordained Buddhist teacher (Oshō) and reverend with the Blue Mountain Lotus Society and Dragonfly Sangha in south-central Pennsylvania, Mike’s approach is grounded, personal, and refreshingly real.

He specializes in helping people recognize and work with unhelpful thoughts and emotions in real time—offering mindful strategies for creating movement, hope, and healing.

Mike’s experience spans corporate leadership and contemplative practice. He has worked with IBM, the United Nations, and Blue Cross organizations, and currently serves as a Contemplative Practitioner for Charlie Health’s intensive mental health programs. He’s also a member of Charlie Health’s Clinical Content Advisory Council.

Mike’s post-grad work in organizational psychology at Penn State informs much of his work with teams. His book, Refuge in Small Things, was released in 2024 and explores everyday practices for living with intention and presence.

Our Philosophy

Mindfulness isn’t about escaping life—it’s about showing up for it.
We believe in making mindfulness and Buddhism approachable and modern. No fluff. No jargon. Just honest conversation about what it means to be human.

We teach from our own experience—because if we understand your suffering, it’s because we’ve lived it too.

Let’s turn challenges into transformation.
Let’s help Monday mornings feel a little more meaningful.

Kind words -

  • His compassion for others, expertise in the history and practice of mindfulness, and gift of eloquently naming and labeling swirling thoughts, feelings, and general suffering helped me hear myself, see myself, and discover my self-worth. He is earnest, humble, brilliant, and funny, which are all qualities that made a mindfulness/self-reflective practice accessible to me, despite several previous attempts at self-study.

  • Mike is knowledgeable, patient, kind, completely non-judgmental, and (maybe most importantly) real! Whether we’re working through a work issue or something with my family, Mike really listens, and instead of giving advice, he helps me to find my own path.

    — Marcus, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

  • Mike has helped me to understand where my thought patterns originate, and to develop ways to manage my reactions before they escalate to stressors. Mike's approach is very caring, patient and compassionate - he is a calming force and genuine in wanting to help people to develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Working with Mike is a partnership; he has tools to offer but is most focused on helping you identify what works best for you.

    — Andrea, Atlanta, Georgia

  • I’ve read books, I’ve used apps, I’ve gone to seminars and retreats, but since working with Mike, my life finally feels like it’s mine. I don’t feel so afraid. I don’t feel so stuck. Working together, I’ve learned tools that I can use to bring me out of my “bad spots” and truly feel relieved. I’m very grateful.

    — Michael, Boston, Massachusetts

  • Mike is thoughtful, patient, extremely knowledgeable, and most important, he cares! I found his class to be entertaining (he's funny) and very informative. I will absolutely put what I learned to practice.
